- ➤ Local organizers will hold the 2025 'Stop the Violence' Memorial Motorcade in Columbus to honor victims and urge community action against violence. WTVM
- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 27th at 10:00 a.m. at its North Columbus facility at 1309 29th St as it unveils major renovations—including new classrooms, flooring, a foyer and an updated main area—funded by donors, community partners and the Columbus Consolidated Government to support local youth. - ➤ Columbus Fire and EMS responded to a single-room fire near Acorn Street in Columbus Tuesday morning; officials said the fire started in a residence (4600 block) and did not cause significant damage or injuries. WTVM

- ➤ The Columbus Police Department is asking for help finding a missing 17 year old teen Jasani Davis who was last seen near the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on March 3 at 3:45 p.m. and is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds; anyone with information should call 911 or (7062253449). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Columbus State University crowned Valeria Saer its 26th Miss CSU on Feb. 22. The Venezuelan native and junior nursing major receives a $1,500 tuition scholarship and a $500 bookstore scholarship and will represent the school in the Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant this summer—she uses her reign to boost college access for first-generation students. - ➤ Officials from Columbus Consolidated Government announced that Buena Vista Road in the Spiderweb area will close for two years starting April 7 for bridge construction over the railroad tracks—motorists are advised to use detour routes and drive with caution. WTVM
- ➤ The Muscogee County Jail — more than 100 years old — has a leaking roof that has only been patched up and now city councilors approved a full replacement; jail staff say the fix is needed immediately though no work schedule was set. Columbus CEO
