CRIME NEWS

  • Tyrone Anthony Sylvester was arrested on April 2 in Muscogee County after a search warrant was executed — he faces multiple drug and firearm charges as investigators seized cocaine, marijuana, a firearm and $37,850.  WTVM
  • Columbus Police are searching for 14-year-old Travis Royal—last seen near Nina St on April 2 at 3 a.m.—who is 5'9", weighs 100 lbs, and has brown hair and brown eyes.  WTVM
  • Royce Foster was taken to Muscogee County Jail on April 2 for possession charges of methamphetamine and cocaine after he was treated at Piedmont Columbus Regional for a gunshot wound on March 24—his twin brother had been charged with shooting him.  News 3
  • On April 3, Michael York was arrested by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office on two grand jury indictment warrants and faces charges including kidnapping, two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime, possession of marijuana, simple battery, and driving on the wrong side of the road — he was transported to jail without incident.  WTVM
  • The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael York on Apr 3 after he faced two grand jury indictment warrants (charging him with kidnapping, 2 counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana, simple battery and driving on the wrong side of the road) and he was taken to Muscogee County Jail.  News 3

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nearly two hundred years after their forced removal from the Chattahoochee Valley, an official delegation from the Muscogee Nation arrived in Columbus Thursday morning for the Muscogee Homecoming to honor their heritage — Mayor Pro-Tem Gary Allen presented a land acknowledgment detailing plans to fly the Muscogee Creek Nation flag at the courthouse and other local sites — as events will continue throughout April.  News 3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Lee County Sheriff’s Office opened submissions on April 3 for its 2025-26 'Clear the List' supply drive for teachers at public and private schools in Lee County—teachers can create wish lists on Amazon to add needed items. Businesses may donate cash, check or online to support the program—helping supply classroom tools.  News 3
