- ➤ Columbus Georgia United hosted a town hall in Columbus — the meeting discussed a plan of action for 2026 that will unite local organizations and address city issues. WTVM
- ➤ Hope Harbour is set to hold its Driving Out Domestic Violence Car, Jeep, and Motorcycle Show on May 3 at Hollywood Connection on 1683 Whittlesey Road in Columbus. The event (sponsored by North Columbus Collision Center) invites auto enthusiasts to join vehicle judging, raffle giveaways, food trucks, music and domestic violence awareness with vehicle entries at $50 and general admission at $5. - ➤ Global Payments has agreed to sell TSYS to Fidelity National Information Services for $13 billion—this sale is part of a deal where FIS will take on $8 billion in new debt and form a commercial partnership as Global Payments plans to buy Worldpay. - ➤ Two men were arrested by Muscogee County Sheriff’s deputies on Thursday when search warrants were executed in Midland and Columbus (one of the men is a popular local photographer), with each facing 10 counts of sexual exploitation of children and both taken to Muscogee County Jail as investigations continue.
