- ➤ The YMCA of Metropolitan Columbus will offer fitness programs for adults and summer camps for kids ages 5 to 14 after Memorial Day through July at $90 to $135 per week, as it celebrates 170 years by providing safe, educational outings such as local field trips + fun experiences. WTVM

- ➤ The annual Strut the Hooch parade returns to uptown Columbus on May 2 to honor late founder Steve Scott with a free celebration. Residents are invited to join the festivities and remember his legacy. WTVM
- ➤ The Boys + Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley hosted the Women’s Creative Collective Luncheon today to celebrate art and creativity. Four local artists led a panel discussion and taught club members new techniques in a revamped program. WTVM
- ➤ Chattahoochee Valley Libraries hosted a pimento cheese event in Columbus as part of its 250th-anniversary series that explored history, heritage, and local flavors, featuring free samples and a cookbook showcase. - ➤ Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced that Travelers filed a rate reduction today, cutting private passenger auto premiums by 10.1% for Georgia drivers. The change saves thousands of policyholders approximately $40 million in premium costs. Columbus CEO

- ➤ Miles Crossing Senior Residences opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in downtown Columbus on Thursday, offering 90 affordable units for seniors (55+) with community amenities like a gym, movie theater, garden, and dog park.
