  • Luke’s Pub & Steakhouse will open on Thursday, May 22 in the building that once housed Crickets and Tidbits at 14661 GA 18, two miles west of Pine Mountain. The new restaurant is expected to bring renewed energy to a space well known by local residents.  Columbus CEO

CRIME NEWS

  • Columbus police are searching for Amber Wright, who was last seen on April 30 in the 4400 block of Chalfonte Drive—she is 25 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds and has dyed pink hair and hazel eyes.  WTVM
  • Columbus Police are seeking help to locate 15-year-old Larry Wallace Jr. who was last seen on May 10 at around 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of 20th Street wearing a black shirt, multi-colored shorts — blue Jordan shoes and described as 5′07″ tall with black hair, brown eyes and weighing 125 lbs.  WTVM
  • Nine people picked up by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office pled guilty to selling drugs, with Tommie Mullins, Jr. to get 20 years and others facing long sentences while federal sentencing is set for Aug. 7—part of a big sweep that saw more than 100 people arrested during Operation Sweet Silence.  News 3

  • Today, Governor Kemp signed House Bill 579—a law that speeds up professional licensing by letting qualified applicants get temporary licenses without long board reviews—and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said the change will open work pathways and help local businesses grow.  Columbus CEO
