Columbus police, fire cadets and EMS chiefs ran the 43rd annual 5-mile torch run on Wednesday morning to benefit Special Olympics Georgia; the run started at the Public Safety Building and ended at Lake Oliver Marina, with a ceremony attended by the mayor + remarks by Sgt. Angela Florence.

Miracle Riders held a check-in on May 13 to share updates on their group activities (local organizers discussed upcoming community rides).

The gathering offered members a chance to learn about future plans and strengthen local connections.

Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 220 today, expanding Georgia’s medical marijuana program to include new qualifying conditions (like Lupus) and legalize vaping for patients; the law replaces the 5% THC cap with a 12,000 mg possession limit and goes into effect July 1.
