- ➤ Dozens of cyclists took part in the Ride of Silence this evening in Uptown, gathering at Woodruff Park for a police-escorted ride on the Dragonfly Trail Network that honored those injured or killed in crashes; they later met at Banks Food Hall to discuss road safety. WTVM
- ➤ WTVM partners with Navy Federal Credit Union on the 'Boxes to Troops' snack drive during Military Appreciation Month (sending boxes to service members) to honor our local troops. WTVM
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Delta Air Lines will introduce the larger Boeing 717 on select Friday and Saturday mid-day flights at Columbus Airport beginning June 12 through September. The new aircraft offer more seats + extra legroom and enhanced overhead bin space, and community support may lead to more frequent service. WTVM
- ➤ Gigi’s Cupcakes in Columbus will close on Saturday, May 30 after nearly 14 years serving the community along Airport Thruway. The owners are working to transition the space to a new bakery (sale pending). WTVM

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Columbus State University’s ROTC commissioned 11 U.S. Army cadets on May 14 as part of spring graduation events, with 10 joining active duty and one assigned to the reserves. Lt. Col. Dale Cox noted the ceremony highlights programs including the Green to Gold option — boosting career advancement. Columbus CEO
