- ➤ Columbus State University named 1,202 undergraduates to its Spring President’s List and Dean’s Lists, representing over 21% of its undergraduate enrollment—804 students earned the minimum 3.80 GPA required for the President’s List while 398 reached a 3.60 GPA for the Dean’s List. Columbus CEO

- ➤ A federal judge in Columbus blocked the transfer of a Venezuelan detainee from Stewart Detention Center to a terrorism confinement facility in El Salvador last Wednesday after he argued he might be labeled an alien enemy without proper due process. The order will keep ICE from removing him until it changes its procedures to meet constitutional rules (per a recent Supreme Court ruling). News 3
- ➤ State officials are warning locals in Columbus today to stay safe over Memorial Day weekend as the Belts & Jackets tour visited the city to urge drivers and boaters to buckle up and avoid using phones while in motion. - ➤ Shaw High School alumnus Steven Register—a former pitching star who played for Auburn and the Colorado Rockies and who was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer—will have a life-saving liver transplant in June in Rochester, New York after fellow graduate Kristin Johnston was found to be a matching donor.
