- ➤ Scott Ressmeyer and the Miracle Riders returned to Columbus last Friday after a 21-day, nearly 10,000-mile ride that raised funds for the CSU nursing program. The riders were welcomed at Covenant Woods—and later in Uptown Columbus they received a $227,950 check for a neonatal intensive care simulation lab, pushing their total donation to $827,950 as they plan future rides. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 10-year-old was released after a near-drowning incident at Lake Tobesofkee—while a 7-year-old drowned and an 8-year-old remains hospitalized from the accident. WSB-TV
- ➤ On May 26th, a fire broke out at Fox Hollow Apartments at 3403 Gentian Blvd near I-185 and US-27 in Columbus—officials are investigating the incident and have not yet confirmed injuries or the extent of damage. WTVM
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ May is ALS Awareness Month and local doctor Dr. Daryl Ellis advises anyone who notices weakness in the hands or feet or trouble speaking or swallowing to see a doctor since early treatment can slow the disease. He explained that current medications can help reduce symptoms—ALS is an incurable condition that leads to muscle weakness and paralysis. News 3
