  • A driver sped at 126 mph on I-185 near JR Allen Parkway Friday and was stopped by deputies — the sheriff warned that such reckless driving endangers lives and can lead to fatal crashes.  WTVM

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Stacker ranked the 50 highest-paying jobs in Columbus using May data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics & family medicine physicians earned the top median wage of $198,990. The ranking also lists roles including pediatricians & web developers to guide those seeking better pay.  WSB-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An attorney for former city manager Isaiah Hugley said his termination was discriminatory—he demanded reinstatement, a written apology, and a $213,278.52 payment. The letter sent Friday to city attorneys stated that remarks from councilmembers were baseless—city officials must reply by June 6 or face a discrimination charge.  WTVM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Treviloi Italian Kitchen at The Rapids on Front Avenue in Columbus scored an 88 after a health inspection found missing paper towels, soap and several uncovered food items + lacking date marks on various dishes. Meanwhile, Bodega 1205 on 12th Street earned a perfect 100, with the owner noting that popular items like Cuban sandwiches and Eggs Benedict keep customers coming back.  WTVM
