- ➤ According to the Columbus Police Department, murders dropped nearly 50% from 16 last year to 9 so far this year—one occurring on Monday—with police chief Stoney Mathis crediting more officers, the Real Time Crime Center and community policing for the decline. News 3

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Revenue will start issuing one-time special tax refund checks this week to eligible taxpayers who filed timely 2023 and 2024 returns.
