  • On Friday night, local seniors were treated like royalty at the first annual senior prom hosted by Columbus Housing Authority at the Cunningham Center on Columbus State's campus — the event featured dancing and music for a memorable evening.  WTVM

  • Colonel JD Evans explained his view of Fort Benning’s annual Independence Day celebration—he said it shows the importance of service and unity among military members and the local community.  WTVM
  • Emily Peterson said Fort Benning's annual Independence celebration will feature family activities and community ceremonies planned for all ages. She explained that the event will honor local tradition — inviting Columbus residents to join in the festivities.  WTVM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Residents in parts of Phenix City, including areas along 12th Avenue, 14th Place, 15th Street, 15th Place, and 17th Street, must boil tap water for three minutes or use bottled water due to a water main leak that may allow bacteria, viruses, and parasites to contaminate the system — officials will lift the notice once tests show the water is safe.  WTVM
  • During Men’s Health Month, doctors at Piedmont Columbus Regional urge men to get regular checkups and screenings to catch preventable heart disease early. A Cleveland Clinic survey shows only 60% of men have annual exams while 40% visit a provider when symptoms occur — experts advise beginning basic screenings at age 35.  News 3
