ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Columbus Fire and EMS responded to a fire on Wednesday night at the vacant 24th Street Missionary Baptist Church on the corner of 24th Street and Veterans Parkway and rescued an unidentified man with non-life-threatening injuries—eight units responded and crews shut down Veterans Parkway between Talbotton Road and 29th Street as they battled the blaze. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Independence Day events light up the Chattahoochee Valley as a fireworks show was held at North Highland Church on July 3 and today feature a museum event, a campsite decorating contest and fireworks at Pyne Road Park—festivities continue through July 6. News 3
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The TSA announced a new PreCheck program for the Atlanta military community that will offer active duty members and military families expedited screening at Hartsfield-Jackson and support at local bases including Dobbins, Fort Benning, and Fort Stewart. Gold Star families can enroll for free and spouses receive a discount on the fee — a measure that honors military sacrifice and helps tens of thousands travel more smoothly. WSB-TV
