GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Columbus Police Department announced five promotions on Monday after an assistant chief retired. The changes will take effect July 19—Deputy Chief Lance Deaton is promoted to assistant chief while Capt. Matt Blackstock becomes deputy chief, Lt. Donald Kraus is named captain, Sgt. Kelly Philips is promoted to lieutenant, and Cpl. Emmanuel Rosado becomes sergeant, with a ceremony scheduled for July 22. News 3
