Spring Harbor at Green Island will celebrate its 20th anniversary on July 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a cruise-themed event that honors residents and team members—marking two decades as the only Life Plan Community in the area.

SafeHouse Ministries will close its day center at the former Rose Hill Methodist Church near Hamilton Road at the end of the month (after nearly 15 years of service) and will keep its three shelters and substance abuse program operating to serve those in need.

On July 16-17, Troup County deputies arrested 32 people on charges of prostitution, pimping and drug possession — the investigation uncovered human trafficking victims and possible traffickers, with three suspects from Alabama and two from Columbus.

Columbus Police responded to a shooting in the 6100 block of Stone Way Drive on July 22nd that injured one person and the Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the case.
