- ➤ Columbus Synovus is merging with Pinnacle Financial Partners and the ballpark may be renamed Pinnacle Park if the rebranding goes ahead. CEO Kevin Blair said the merger will finalize in the first quarter and the rebranding process is expected to take 12—14 months, with a new name coming by 2027. News 3

- ➤ Two people were injured in an overnight shooting on the 2600 block of Juniper Avenue — police reported a heavy presence on Japonica Drive and are investigating the connection between the scenes. WTVM
- ➤ A 20-year-old man from Columbus was arrested Saturday in Coweta County after he escaped custody and evaded police until a local resident spotted him on Rolling Hills Lane—he now faces six counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime while being held in Coweta County Jail. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Technical College System of Georgia announced that its college police departments serving 88 campuses in 22 colleges have earned full state certification through the Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program — the first time a statewide college system has received this accreditation.
