🎓 Education
Columbus Technical College hosted pinning ceremonies today to honor summer healthcare graduates from its Surgical Technology, Nurse Aide, Medical Assisting, and ADN programs + family and faculty celebrated the milestone.
Columbus State University named new leaders for its Faculty Senate and Staff Council for the 2026-27 academic year.
Dr. Judith Livingston, a longtime English professor, will serve as the executive officer while Maya Shakoor (an employee since 2021) will chair the Staff Council.
🏛️ Government
Commissioner Harper signed a proclamation designating Aug.
3 to Aug. 9 as Georgia Farmers Market Week to honor local farmers and markets. The announcement urges residents to visit local markets and support Georgia-grown food.
City of Auburn and Columbus are hosting National Night Out — a community event inviting residents to meet local law enforcement.
The event will boost public engagement and local safety.
