- ➤ Columbus Police and Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Walter Bethune—identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting—on Wednesday at about 6:16 a.m. in Smiths Station after Lawrence Perry died at St. Francis hospital near Northside Industrial Boulevard. News 3

- ➤ Gov. Brian Kemp and Choose Columbus announced that JS Link America Inc. will invest $223M to build a plant at Muscogee Technology Park that will make magnets and create over 520 jobs in Columbus. The 130,000-square-foot facility will begin operations in late 2027—supporting work in areas like aerospace and energy. News 3
