  • The Greater Columbus Fair has been cancelled for fall — high security costs of $75,000 for off-duty officers and plans to search for a new vendor drove the decision, according to Civic Center Interim Director Kanise Wiggins.  News 3

  • The Georgia National Fair debuts new attractions today — visitors can explore fresh exhibits designed to boost the fair experience.  Columbus CEO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit began its fall term at the Columbus Government Center by holding a docket call to honor local Columbus Bar Association members who died in the past year. The ceremony remembered prominent figures—former Chief Superior Court Judge John Allen and law partners John Partin and Milton Hirsch.  News 3

HEALTH NEWS

  • Synovus Bank donated $100k to help build a new childcare facility on Phoebe Sumter Medical Center’s campus to support hospital workers with childcare needs. The Family Tree program will serve about 50 children and the facility will open in 2027—providing staff with extra support.  News 3

  • Coach Hugh Freeze discussed how his team performed in past games and laid out plans for the future schedule—he said more details will be shared as the team prepares for upcoming contests.  WTVM
