  • Jennifer Cooper, owner of Gigi's Cupcakes (in Auburn and Columbus) with her husband Patrick, died Tuesday when her vehicle was hit by a school bus on East University Drive in Auburn and was remembered for her servant’s heart (donations honoring her life should be given to StoryTellers Live).  WTVM

  • Economists at Columbus State University said national economic indicators point to low consumer confidence as shoppers in Columbus cut back on spending amid rising prices.   • On November 21, Columbus State University appointed seven distinguished community and business leaders to its Foundation Board of Trustees — they bring expertise in health, law, government, real estate and business to support the university’s mission to transform lives through education and innovation.   • Columbus State Continuing & Professional Education has launched three new online credentials—Generative AI Foundations, Professional Communication, and Project Management Foundations—that offer self-paced courses awarding certificates to help professionals gain the skills employers need.   • ATTOM's Q3 2025 report showed U.S. residential mortgage originations fell 1.6% from Q2 while rising 1.9% from last year—purchase loans dropped as refinance and HELOCs gained modestly amid rising affordability challenges.
